The Frank (1817/Ireland-1884/KS) Gilmer family were 1858 pioneers of Fayette.Co.IA, coming from English Canada, initially farming in the Corn Hill area in Westfield Twp to the SE of Fayette village. Frank removed the family to Sumner.Co.KS in the late 1870's, where he and his wife died. Some of the family then returned to farm in Smithfield, Center and Harlan Twp's, identifying with the village of Maynard where they are buried in Long Grove Cemetery.
