Michael Johannes Heckardt Heckert

Michael Heckert (immigrated Heckardt) b.1703/Darmstadt.Hessen, d.aft.1760/Berks.Co.PA.
Michael married, in 1723/Baden-Wurttemberg,  Catherine Heberer b.abt1705/Ger, d.1759/Berks.Co.PA.
Michael was the 2nd Heckert/Heckardt immigrating to America, arriving in 1848.
Michael would settle in what would become the Wernersville area of Berks.Co.PA.

Darmstadt square,  Hessen state, Germany, Michael1703 Heckardt/Heckert's birth area.

...In 1736, Franz Heckert 1702-1752,  arrived in America, settling in Lancaster.Co.PA, the area which would become the York village area of York.Co, which was formed in 1749.
...Franz is assumed a son of Conrad Heckardt abt.1680/Bavaria-abt.1728/Bavaria & Apolina Fran Yob abt.1680/Bavaria-1728/Bavaria.
...Michael Heckert 1703-aft1760, parents unknown, came to America in 1748, settling in Lancaster.Co.PA, the area that would become Wernersville, Berks.Co.PA, which was formed in 1752.
...Michael1703 Heckert & Franz1702 Heckert have no known direct relationship.
...The Michael line is of primary interest to the iowaz site as a direct descendent.
...The Franz line was primary in the Bavaria area.  The Michael line was apparently from the area to the east of Bavaria in Hessen, Rhineland, Wurttemberg (map below).
...The Heckert/Heckart families, along with other German families settled in southeastern PA, the first area of PA to be organized by whites, with later generations moving as PA was settled.

Surname analogs:  Heckert, Heckart, Heckard, Heckardt, Heckhart, Heckhardt
Possible derivations:  Eckert, Heck

...There will be a limited assortment of maps on this page and site to give an overview of the Heckert/Heckart areas.
...The web is now is 'loaded' with maps/material.  Historic, topographic and aerial views can be utilized.
...Important....understanding land mass location and evolution is more important than settlement names in early Pennsylvania.   Family locations, births, marriages, deaths, burials, etc, during county and township formation could be in the same land mass but given different location names depending on the date or whom is giving the data.
...One must keep in mind that the Michael1703 line settled in the area of Hain's St. John's Church.  Today the area to keep in mind is around Wernersville and Reading, Berks.Co.PA.  That location can be described through time by the evolution of counties, townships, burroughs.

Do not trust as totally valid any tree/report data.  Often World Connect or Ancestry trees/data were utilized as a foundation upon which to add material gleamed from obits, articles, histories, biographies, stories, burials, censuses and other data collected.  My primary interest is generally the pioneer history and includes linking village and neighborhood surnames together for several of the early generations.  Family connections, locations and other data may have to be speculated in order to continue a complex series of inter-related projects.  My web pages are primarily personal study projects for note keeping, but can also jump start others.  I have a huge number of projects started and rarely return to edit/update material unless interest is rekindled.  Any web pages online are usually linked off the 'Index Page.'  Numerous projects are not put on web pages but are in draft form or in the form of photo albums on the 'Photo Hosting Site.'   I may have material for research use in storage, plus will/can upload other people's material if appropriate.
