Geo. Wm. McKee & son David were deceased and both buried in unmarked graves in Grandview Cem, at Fayette.IA, although their land holding was still
shown on the 1879 Plat, either due to lag time or the land was still being farmed by someone in the family or just had not been transferred.
In the 1870 Census, Geo Wm. McKee was enumerated adjacent to Geo. Gothard, in the same location as on the 1879 Plat.
Son David A. McKee was till in IL, living with his sister Harriett's family in 1870, so apparently came to Fay.Co.IA immediately after the enumration.
Both Geo.Wm and David's acreages were from the T.Hill land/farm.
The McKee/McKay's were near other families in the Lima, Albany, Frog Hollow to Spring Valley neighborhood
that came from the Kankakee & Iroquois Co's, IL, area.
The McKee's were only in Westfield.Twp from abt.1869 to the mid 1870's.
